The poet Matt Abbott will be running sessions at The Brewery Arts Centre, on Thursday 23rd June for students in Years 7-9.
Join celebrated children’s poet and acclaimed performer Matt Abbott for a spoken word poetry performance bonanza! Pupils will be shown how to bring their poems to life and boost their confidence when it comes to public speaking in general.
With a range of exercises based on pacing, diction, and tone, pupils will learn to get the most out of the text that they’re sharing. There’ll also be a writing-based exercise that will help smaller groups of pupils to create example poems for them to then perform during the workshop.

Morning Session 9.30 - 11.30am
Afternoon Session 12.30 - 2.30pm
Tickets £2.50 per pupil. Schools should choose either the morning session or the afternoon session. Capacity capped at 100 per session.
