Claudine Toutoungi’s debut poetry collection Smoothie was published by Carcanet in 2017. Her poems have appeared in various publications including PN Review, Poetry (Chicago), The Financial Times, Magma, The Tangerine, Poems in Which, The North, The Literateur and the anthology New Poetries VI (Carcanet, 2015). She was a Jerwood/Arvon Playwright Mentee, working with Colin Teevan and her theatre credits include work performed at Hampstead Theatre, Theatre 503, The Cockpit, the Junction, Cambridge and her play Slipping featured in New York’s Lark Play Centre’s HotINK series and premiered in the UK at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough. Her Radio 4 adaptation of Slipping starred Andrew Scott and Charlotte Riley and was a finalist in the 2015 Audio Drama Awards. As a dramatist for Radio 4 her other credits include Deliverers, several seasons of the First World War drama series Home Front, the comedy drama series The Inheritors and a dramatization of Delphine de Vigan’s psychological thriller Based On A True Story.
